Biochemistry & Psychology Foundational Studies
Subject-foundation track · knowledge-based assessment
A subject-foundation track for students building competence in molecular biology, biochemistry, behavioral & cognitive science. Assessment is exam-style (online January 2, 2026). Best fit for students applying to biomedical sciences, biochemistry, neuroscience, or psychology programs.
Life & Health Professional Studies
Profession-orientation track · case-study assessment
A profession-orientation track for students exploring healthcare careers — clinical research, medical practice, public health, biomedical innovation. Same online assessment as ATC, but content emphasizes professional context: case studies, healthcare workflows, patient interaction frameworks.
Public Welfare Impact Practice
Practice-based track · project + presentation
A practice-based track. Students design and execute a community-health initiative — identifying a real public-health need, building a stakeholder coalition, executing the intervention, and measuring outcome. Initial submission due December 26, 2025 · 14:00. Best for students whose strengths lie in initiative-taking and applied problem-solving.
US HOSA · 5 event categories
The US HOSA program runs over 50 events. For context, here is the structure — Chinese students who join via iHOSA China see streamlined versions of these in the ATC / CCE / BCE tracks, but understanding the parent organization’s full portfolio is useful for college admissions narratives. Health Science Events
Knowledge-based events on the science underlying healthcare practice.

How events are judged
HOSA uses three judging models depending on the event category. Understanding which model applies to your chosen track / event shapes how you prepare in the months between registration and the China site or global stage.
Online Knowledge Assessment
Multiple-choice and short-answer questions on the event’s body of knowledge. Used for: ATC, CCE, most Health Science events. Score determines advancement to next stage. Preparation: focused study of the published reference materials.
Skill Demonstration
In-person skills tested against a rubric. Used for: Health Professions events (Nursing Assisting, Dental Science), Emergency Preparedness (CPR, EMT). Preparation: deliberate practice with feedback, ideally under supervision of a licensed professional.
Project & Presentation
Written submission (project proposal + execution report) followed by in-person presentation to judges. Used for: BCE track, Leadership events, Teamwork (Medical Innovation, Public Service Project). Preparation: 4–6 months of project work + presentation rehearsal.
Competitive events FAQ
Can I enter multiple tracks?
No. Each student selects one track per season (ATC, CCE, or BCE). The reason is that each track is designed for a 12-month preparation arc — the value comes from sustained focused work, not breadth. Your final stage placement and recognition are tied to your single track choice.
What is the time commitment for each track?
ATC and CCE: approximately 4–8 hours/week of study from registration through online assessment (June 2025 – January 2026), then lighter preparation through the China site event (March/April 2026). BCE is project-based — work concentrates around the December 26 initial submission deadline (typically 6–12 hours/week for 8–10 weeks before submission), then iteration through the China site event.
How does the China site feed the global stage?
Top performers from the China site event qualify to attend the global stage (June 17–20, 2026) and compete in the international finals. Specific qualification thresholds vary by track and division — confirmed each season by SKT and published on Webloom.
Are events conducted in English?
Yes. All event materials, online assessments, and the global stage operate in English. Chinese students should be comfortable reading scientific English at the secondary-school level. Hanlin Education provides language support and presentation coaching for BCE participants.
Do I need a US HOSA chapter affiliation?
Chinese students registering via SKT-iHOSA on Webloom do not need to be members of a US chapter. Registration through SKT enrolls you in the China program directly. International students studying abroad in the US may join via their school’s local chapter if one exists.
What if I miss a deadline?
The December 26, 2025 14:00 initial submission deadline (BCE track) and the January 2, 2026 online assessment date (ATC / CCE) are hard-locked by Webloom — late submissions are not accepted. The April 20, 2026 final registration deadline also has no extension. Plan your calendar accordingly when registering.
